La empresa Luminex está creando una fibra luminiscente tipo fibra óptica que puede tejerse como tela.
Esta tela se puede utilizar y tratar como cualquier otro tipo de tela.
Las fibras se unen a conductores brillantes que son controlados vía un microchip con una fuente de energía a batería. Las fibras son descoloridas por defecto, pero emiten cualquier color que le pida emitir el microchip. Por ejemplo agregando un sensor óptico, las ropas brillan intensamente, cambiando constantemente de colores para imitar el entorno.
Caminando de un lugar a otro en un club oscuro, usted cambiará de colores como un camaleón.
O imagínese usar los sensores de audio para hacer que los colores enciendan con la música circundante.
Cristiano Peruzzi de Luminex dice: "es una tela que contiene, entre otras cosas, fibra óptica, contiene también un componente técnico. El sistema consiste en un cableado y la fibra óptica es encendida por los LED de alta eficiencia."
Hay usos más inmediatos, como prendas para grandes ocasiones y eventos especiales, accesorios y también mobiliarios especiales, Y hay también una gama de usos que son más técnicos, por ejemplo servicios de seguridad y emergencia. La casa de moda italiana Solo Sposa, que está haciendo los vestidos nupciales, está utilizando las telas que brillan intensamente de Luminex para algunos de sus modelos.

Lighten up your life
The company Luminex is creating a type of luminescent fiber by weaving fibre-optics into fabric. This fabric can be used and treated like any other type of fabric. The fibers are attached to super bright LED’s that are controlled via a microchip with a battery power source.
The fibers are colorless by default, but they emit whatever color the microchip instructs them to emit. For example by adding a optical sensor, the clothes glow by constantly changing the colors to match the surroundings. Walk from room to room in a dark club and you’ll change colors like a chameleon. Or imagine using audio sensors to make the colors pulsate with the surrounding music.
Luminex’s Cristiano Peruzzi says: “It is a fabric containing, amongst other things, fibre-optics, but there is also a technical side to it. The system consists of cabling, and the fibre-optics are lit by high-efficiency LEDs.”
There are more immediate applications, everything from clothes for special events or occasions and accessories but also furnishings, cushions etc. And there is also a range of applications that are more technical, such as the security and emergency services.
The Italian Fashion house Solo Sposa, which is doing bridal dresses, is using Luminex glowing fabrics for some of their models.
